Research Core

The research core focuses efforts on working with the other cores to increase the capacity of partnering institutions, communities, researchers and trainees within the institution to engage health disparities research.

Specific Aims

Aim 1: To expand and coordinate infrastructure related to the essential processes of data entry, management, and analyses required to complete the two ARCHD Research Projects as well as activities undertaken by other ARCHD Cores (i.e. Administrative, Community Engagement/Outreach, Research Education/Training);

Aim 2: To work with the Administrative Core to facilitate use of the PHACS web-accessible database by investigators, trainees and community partners as a resource for documenting needs within targeted communities, identifying health services and potential collaborators within communities, and monitoring project outcomes;

Aim 3:  To work with the Education Core and the Community Engagement Core to establish processes for mentoring community partners, junior faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and students in a multi-directional collaborative approach to community-engaged translational research addressing health disparities; and

Aim 4:  To advise the ARCHD Steering Committee regarding procedures for data and safety monitoring, data sharing, and additional infrastructure required to support research addressing health disparities.
