Do I need to take a graduate test to be considered for admission?
GRE or GMAT scores are not required.
What should be included in the statement of objectives?
The 1–2 page personal statement should describe for the faculty why you are seeking a degree in health administration, your career goals and objectives, and information about any previous work experience, and in particular, any in leadership or management.
When should I apply?
Applications should be submitted via SOPHAS, an online application service for CEPH-accredited schools of public health, or HAMPCAS, an online application service for CAHME-accredited MHA programs. Please only apply through one application service. If you do not have a preference, use SOPHAS. These application services open each year in mid-late August.
What happens during the interview?
We get to know you, and you get to know some of our faculty. Faculty ask questions related to your statement of career goals and objectives, and your previous work and academic preparation. The interview also includes time for you to ask us any questions. The interview generally lasts for 30 minutes and is conducted by video conferencing (i.e., Zoom).
What is the delivery method of the classes?
The program is 100% online, but nearly all classes will have a virtual live component that will meet via video conferencing (i.e., Zoom) one night a week. Students attend live sessions up to two nights a week from their computer. Classes nearly always occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6- 8 p.m. Central Time.
What happens during the live class time?
Evening Zoom classes are held each week to engage students through real-world simulations and cases, preparing them for practice. Students engage in a variety of activities that foster higher-level learning and critical thinking. Faculty often use breakout rooms to help increase engagement and discussion.
