COVID-19 Contact Tracing

Qualifications

To qualify for the Contact Tracing Mini-A.P.E., you need to:

  • Be a current MPH student in good academic standing
  • Have completed HPMT 5003, Introduction to Public Health, with a grade of “B” or better

To sign up for the Contact Tracing Mini-A.P.E., you need to:

Completion Requirements

To satisfy the requirements for the Contact Tracing Mini-A.P.E., you need to:

  • Complete at least 40 hours and at most 50 hours of site activity experience at UAMS Health.
  • Document your hours on the provided timesheet and have the faculty supervisor of each shift initial next to each entry before you leave.
  • Have the designated Contact Tracing Faculty Advisor, Dr. Wendy Nembhard, sign off on your timesheets at the end of each week.
  • Follow the directions of the Contact Tracing Faculty Advisor, Dr. Wendy Nembhard.
  • Achieve the competency, “Apply epidemiological methods to the breadth of settings and situations in public health practice.”

Notes

  • Hours toward the Contact Tracing Mini-A.P.E. that are less than 40 or more than 50 will be counted as volunteer hours only.
  • You don’t need to sign up for a course or register in GUS for this activity, and you don’t have to pay any additional fees.
  • Mini-A.P.E. hours may be used as early initiation of hours for future A.P.E. projects.
