Introduction

Dr. Porter is the Dr.P.H. Program Director at the College of Public Health. He also serves as the Deputy Chief Science Officer and Deputy State Epidemiologist at the Arkansas Department of Health.

Teaching Focus

Dr. Porter teaches advanced public health practices and statistics for healthcare administrators. He seeks to introduce students to an integration of public health science, leadership principles, policy skills, and government agency operation. He also focuses on developing student skills in statistics and basic analytical functions.

Research Overview

Dr. Porter’s research interests include injury epidemiology, trauma systems evaluation, and health disparities research. His research involves the clinical management of injured patients and disparities regarding treatment and patient outcomes.
