Program Overview

I am currently collaborating with Dr. Fayaz Farkhad on a scoping review titled “How Claims Based Studies Define HIV Risk and HIV Prevention Use: A Scoping Review of Administrative Claims Algorithms and Proxies.” This project examines how administrative claims studies identify individuals at risk for HIV and measure the use of prevention services such as preexposure prophylaxis, postexposure prophylaxis, and HIV and sexually transmitted infection testing. I am also working with Dr. Rezaeiahari on a project examining continuous glucose monitor coverage under Arkansas Medicaid. This work involves reviewing Medicaid policies, identifying relevant billing and product codes, and assessing changes in coverage over time.

In addition, I worked with Dr. Owsley on a study titled “Variation in Costs of Systemic Cancer Therapy and Predictors of High Cost Therapy Among Privately Insured Patients in the United States.” Using national commercial claims data, the study examined differences in systemic therapy costs and factors associated with receiving high cost treatment among privately insured adults with cancer. Together, these projects have strengthened my experience with administrative claims data, health policy research, evidence synthesis, and health care cost and utilization analysis.
