Introduction

Dr. Koru serves as the Director of the Office of Public Health Informatics at UAMS to support the development of data, informatics, and technology platforms to support public health missions.

Teaching Focus

Dr. Koru teaches courses on effectively and efficiently leveraging data, informatics, and technology to serve the triple aims in healthcare: better care, better outcomes, and reduced costs.

Research Overview

Dr. Koru’s research areas include informatics maturity, data quality, public data access and communication, and IT adoption and use for healthcare quality improvement. He has worked with interdisciplinary teams to address these complex challenges in home healthcare and hospice, healthcare administration, and maternal health by using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
