Introduction

In addition to collaboration on health research, Dr. Du teaches and develops biostatistical methods. He co-investigates NIH-funded studies, edits for PLOS ONE, and serves in an ASA local chapter.

Teaching Focus

Dr. Du teaches Categorical Data Analysis and Biostatistics I. His teaching emphasizes understanding fundamental concepts, selecting appropriate methods, and applying them to real-world data analyses. Rather than delving into complex statistical theory, he prioritizes practical skills, ensuring students can effectively tackle actual data challenges in their future work.

Research Overview

Dr. Du’s current research focuses on clustered data analysis and health disparity studies. He’s involved in NIH-funded projects addressing health disparities in African American communities in rural Arkansas and Native American populations facing environmental health challenges. Dr. Du also supports studies on radiation-induced immune dysregulation, aiming to improve health outcomes.
