Dr. Maity’s primary work specializes in epidemiological research design focused on birth defects and mortality data, large scale data-integration, and statistical modelling and predictive analytics.
Teaching Focus
He prefers the collaborative mentoring approach towards teaching—encouraging students to ask the right questions and define the perimeters of the problem. Research should be an intellectual exercise above all.
Research Overview
His current research involves maternal-child health outcomes and risk-factors involving interdisciplinary approach borrowing heavily from epidemiology, metabolomics, GWAS, and bioinformatics.
