Master of Health Administration Admissions

Admission & Eligibility Requirements

  • The completion of at least a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale) overall. Applicants with a GPA between 2.75 and 2.99 will still be considered for admission with healthcare management experience.
  • Personal statement or letter of interest (1-2 pages) detailing reasons for seeking this degree, previous work experience, career goals and objectives.
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation completed by separate individuals who can speak to the candidate’s academic, professional and/or healthcare experience. Follow SOPHAS/HAMPCAS directions for completing this section of the application online.
  • A current résumé
  • An online interview with the MHA Program Faculty.

Medical Laboratory Management Concentration

Everything above and: 

  • The baccalaureate degree must in medical laboratory sciences or a similar area. 
  • 3 years of work experience in a laboratory setting.

International Students and Graduates

  • As we are fully online, international students requiring a US student visa are not eligible for admission. Nor can we admit anyone residing outside of the US. 
  • All transcripts from foreign countries must be translated and evaluated by the World Education Service, applicants will receive a discounted rate. An official copy of the evaluation must be submitted either to SOPHAS/HAMPCAS.  
  • The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) must be taken by applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree from an accredited US institution. The minimum scores for specific programs are listed below. Applicants who do not meet the minimum scores will not be considered for admission.
    • Paper-based exam: 580
    • Internet-based exam: 90
    • COPH Code: R6901
  • Either test must have been taken within the two (2) years immediately preceding the application deadline of the requested semester for admission.
  • For the TOEFL, an official test score must be sent directly from the testing agency to SOPHAS.
