Please join us on Thursday, April 5th from 5:00-7:30pm in the COPH 8th floor auditorium for a special screening of the film: From the Ashes. This film captures Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry and what its future should be under the present Administration. From Appalachia to the West’s Powder River Basin, the film goes beyond the rhetoric of the “war on coal” to present compelling and often heartbreaking stories about what’s at stake for our economy, health, and climate. The film invites audiences to learn more about the industry on the edge and what it means for their lives. At the end of the film Dr. Alesia Ferguson and Professor Kevin Ryan will discuss the film’s impact through an environmental and health policy perspective.
