Marie Walker, MA, who for many years served as the COPH registrar, has taken the position of Public Health Practice Coordinator in the COPH Office of Student Affairs, effective July 16. She will be responsible for many aspects of the preceptorship and culminating experience required for the MPH, not only advising and assisting students but also developing new practicum experiences for them.
Ms. Walker served as the College’s registrar from 2007 until last September, when that position was relocated to the newly centralized UAMS Office of the Registrar. Ms. Walker came to UAMS and COPH in 2005, taking the job of Administrative Assistant in what was then the Office of Student Services. She transitioned to the position of Registrar two years later.
Since April 1, Eric Flowers, MS, has continued in the role of Public Health Practice Coordinator while assuming the new role of Director of the Office of Student Affairs.
Ms. Walker brings with her a wealth of experience in working in student services and recently completed a master’s degree in higher education with an emphasis in student affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Congratulations, Marie – and great to have you back!
